Lucy Liu is a voice actress singer and director. She's also an actress. She's a beautiful, talented actress who has helped numerous Asian actors to make it in Hollywood. In the wake of a number of first appearances on popular TV shows, she gained fame after joining the crew of the cult comedy show Ally McBeal where she played the villainous Ling Woo. She translated her unexpected fame into major screen roles in movies such as Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. She gave a stellar performance as Japanese gangster O-Ren Ishii (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino. Also, she portrayed leading parts in box office flops like Rise: Blood Hunter. She then started voicing prominent characters in animated films such like Kung Fu Panda and Tinker Bell. Small screen roles such as Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia didn't yield any results. Southland was a critically acclaimed series of police dramas that included Liu in multiple role, allowed her to reaffirm her as an actress. Liu carefully selects roles to prevent being stereotyped within an industry which is extremely competitive. Though she has embraced her roots she has not let it restrict her artistic abilities.
