Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the United States and is a Greek-American author, syndicated writer of columns as well as a businesswoman. She is the author of fifteen books, and she is co-founder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a writer and philanthropist as well as a television host and owner of the independently open online newsmagazine The Huffington Post. After moving into England from Greece at the age of 16 and obtaining an MA with a major in Economics from Cambridge University. The first graduate non-UK to be elected president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. Then she became a syndicated conservative writer following graduation and, with The Huffington Post launched a year following, she launched an online platform for voice which offered critiques of politics. It was her celebrity that led to the recruitment of a number of prominent contributors to share their opinions on the news as well as politics and culture. Arianna's celebrity status started in 2003, after she became an independent candidate for the California recall vote to replace Governor Davis. In addition to this she was the leader of the Detroit Project for fuel-efficient cars. Forbes declared her to be as one of the "most important female" within the field of media with her ranking at the 12th spot. Guardian placed her on their list of the 100 most influential media people in 2009. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she became president of this media group. It included a variety of AOL properties of the time such as Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is a daughter of Konstantinos an advisor to management and journalist. Although she had a close relationship to her father, her connection to her mom was the defining factor in the course of her entire life. In her earliest years she showed leadership abilities that remain highly respected. When she was 16 years old her family moved in her home in United Kingdom for her higher education. At Girton College Cambridge. When she was in college and was in Cambridge Union, she joined the college debating societies where she eventually became its first foreign and female president. She graduated in 1972 with a Master's Degree in Economics. Her career as TV host and journalist began after she graduated. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
